Today in science class we started learning about astronomy, which is a big word space science. I learned a lot of things I didn't know about space. I learned that through the power of ten (which 10 to the power of 10) astronemors can inference on what the galaxy and other parts of the universe that we haven't yet seen, like for example one of my classmates said, "how can you know how the Milky Way looks like if we're in", and my teacher responded that the astronemors infered what the Milky Way looks like and then draw down, to show the public what they estimate the Milky Way to look like and also to predict the area of the stars and stuff like that.
Week 16
Track
Today I had track practice and man was it hard! We ran a lot that day and that same day I had done the mile for P.E. by the end of it i was tire and hungry, and right at that moment I thought about science. Every living creature need food as fuel to keep them running, when we eat and then do work we convert the food into chemical energy and from chemical energy we convert it to kinetic energy which is moving energy (track is all about moving and running). So when I got home I ate a bowl of spagetti to regain my energy and drank water to quench my thirts and get hydrated.
Week 15
Ocean Waves
When I went to California my family and I went to the beach in Santa Monica, there I went to the ocean, but the waves started making me fall and every time I got up I went right back down, and also the closer I got the more powerful the waves got, so every time I got up this bigger and stronger wave would knock me down like a rag doll, I figured that ther was a disturbance in the ocean because is were most waves originate.
Week 14
Refraction
While in California my brothers and I went to a restuarant for breakfast, and I had cup of water with a straw in it and when my little brother asked me why the straw looked broken and I told him that it was due to refraction, I told him that the straw wasn't really broken, it just looked weird because of the ligtht and of the change in medium, I told him that it was just an optic ullision, that his eye was diciving him and after all that he looked at me wierd, almost like I was crazy or something.
Week 13
Mirror
While in California I stayed in my aunts house, and in her house there is a bathroom that has two moveable mirrors, while I was there I saw my reflection of the the back of my head being reflected on the other mirror, and so i grew curious of what was happening and adjusted the mirrors so that I could see a third reflection and so I keept on doing that until I got and infinite number of reflections of my face. This is reflection in action my face is reflected to mirror two and then it is reflected back to mirror one, so if put into an angle it is possible to get an infinate number of reflection.
Week 12
Candle
This happened when we went to the fancy dinner in Maggiano's for school of the future. Were my dad and I were sitting there were candles that were lit for decoration. My hands were cold so I put then on top of the candle, and pretty soon my hands got hot, so I elevated my hands a little every time and pretty soon I didn't feel heat. Then I tried to get heat from the side but there wasn't as much warmth as the top. This here is an example pf convection, the hot air rises to the top quickly and after reaching a certain height it goes back down.
Week 11
Vibration
This morning my phone started vibrating, it was trying to wake me up but I was too tire to get, but the constant vibration irretated me, but then i realized that vibration are just molecules moving really fast, in a really small place. It have also been the vibration of the sound it was creating, because different pitches of vibration can create a sound.
Week 10
Swimming Raisins
Today i had to help my brother with his science project. I was looking in the web for easy projects. I came across this project called swimming raisins, what i had to do was that i had to combine vinegar and tap water in a clear and clean jar, after we have to stir the solution and then add two tablespoons of baking soda and then I had to stir that. After a while bubbles started to appear I poured four raisins one at a time and the bubbles stuck to the raisins and made float to the top of the jar and it looked like it was floating.

Gizmo's !
Today in class Denny and I did a gizmo which explained how energy is converted, one of the examples we did was how the light buld lights up. There is a lot of ways it can get it's energy, it can get it from an ethenol plant, solar panels, wind turbines/ windmills and hydro electric pump. Even though there is many ways for us to get electricity for our electrical applainces, they main source of energy is the sun, from the sun we get all the energy we need, with the heat from the sun we ca get air, water and ethanol power to get the energy needed.

Teetter-Totter
Today I went to my cousins house, in his backyard he has a teeter-totter were his brother and sister would play in. Well a teeter-totter is a simply machine called a lever, there are 3 types of levers, the 1st class has the fulcrum in the middle, the effort one side and the load on the opposite side, 2nd class lever hass the fulcrum on one of the sides, the load in the center and the effort on the opposite side of the fulcrum, 3rd class lever is similar to the 2nd class but the load and the effort have switch sides. Some examples of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd class levers are: Teeter-Totter, Wheel burrow and Twezzers.

Paper Cutter
Tody i was cutting some paper to make a sidewalk for school model my team and i have created. Well to cut the paper i was using a paper cutter, which is a simple machine called a wedge, a wedge is basically a two inclined planes put together, if you give force to like for example swining an axe into a piece of wood then you have put innner force to the center of the wood then the inner force is converted to outer force splitting the wood.

Batman
I was watching Batman with my brother last nigth and the name of this episode was Clash of the Metal Men and this episode was about 6 heros who are andriods with the atribute of six metals from the periodic and those metals were: gold, mercury, tin, lead, iron and platnuim. All of them looked like their metal, gold and platnuim were bolth shiny and elegant, iron was like an erogant football player, lead wasn't very bright but he was very resistant. mercury seemed nice at the begining but turned mean around the middle and tin was small and thin since tin is a simple metal. The bad guys were the Gas Gang which were 6 gases from the periodic table, they were: Oxygen, Chlorofom, Helium, Hydrogen, Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide. They really didn't describe them because they were gas. I chose this because the heros alike the villians were based on elements.

Skate Park
I chose the topic of skate parks because that is what we are doing in science this week. Skate parks are related to science because it is mostly all about physical science. In a skate park skaters have to know how to harness potential energy so that they can turn into kinetic energy, with kinetic energy they can go through loops, chutes, pipes and ramps. With the energy they give to their boards by using their pushing leg they can make awesom tricks that will leave shocked

Tae-Kwon-Do
Right now I'm tire, I just got back from tae-kwon-do and i'm pooped. I feel so energyless because when doing any activities you use up the energy you have stored from the food you eat. In our weekly homework it mentioned how you get energy from the food you eat how imporatant water is when doing activities.

Rain
This whole week it's been pouring rain, and my guess is that all the rain we are getting now is from the summer when most of the water got evaporated and because we didn't see rain during the whole summer the rain is coming back to haunt us. :/

Team Hand ball
This week in P.E our unit was team hand ball, i chose this topic to talk about becaue when you are holding the ball it is storing potential energy and when you are trowing the ball to your teammate you are turning the potential energy to kinetic because of teh movement you are sending the ball

Clapping
When you clap you are constanly using kinetic energy to keep on moving your hands. when clapping you are also creating heat energy because you are making the atoms in you're hand hit each other, while doing this you also making sound energy because of the noise you cause
