for my APOD I did NGC 4622. it's a galaxy that is backwards. instead of most it spins in the direction of it's arms

when I get an x-ray the machine gets a signal telling it to send the radioactive x-rays into me. those rays then create an image on a screen that when set to a light you can see the inside of what ever the picture was of.

another type of Sattelite is a natural one. the Earth has one natural sattelite...the moon. other planets have up to 20 or 30. a moon counts because a sattelite is defined as an object that orbits another.

a sattelite is imppressive. the kind that is manmade is interesting and studies both Earth and other planets. they launch these from Earth or also from space shuttles.

star consolations oooooooooo. the interesting little things fascinate me. the thing about them is that they only happen to be put together the way they are. the stars were fomred and eventually will die but for the moment they are staying were they are.

our solar system is wierd. It has many different planets because our sun is pulling them towards it. I believe I heard that the Earth moves about an inch towards the sun each year. scientists say that there is also a meteor headed for mars.

an atom is a strange little thing. it is made up of protons in the nucleus which have a posotive charge. also helping in the nucleus are neutrons which have niether a posotive or negative charge. then outside are electrons with negative charge and are spinning around the nucleus at nearly the speed of light. depending on the element there will be different amounts of these different little charges.

gravity is a facsinating. it is a force that pulls everything together. the thing about it is that it doesn't pull humans together or to tables because our mass is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too small. the Earth is very large in mass so it can pull everything to it.

rubber bands are odd. they are a combonation of elments that bond together and create a stretchy yet somewhat breakable after a certain point. these are cool because of the strength of their stetch.

Sound waves are very interesting. this is so because they don't travel as fast through air as in a solid object. true this doesn't make sense but it is a fact of physics.

waves. waves are interesting because of many things. they move in patterns. And waves also sometimes move through objects. certain types of waves need to move through things and others don't and can travel on air of whatever they want.

My dad told me about how electricity moved through things before I learned it in class. An electric current must be in a circle if the circle isn't complete then it will not work. when it is complete the elcetrons will flow through it freely, as long as there is a posotive and negative charge to the circiut.
heats water inside of it. it uses that heat to warm the meatal and it radiates the air around it with heat.

I made toast the other day and noticed the change in energy. It starts out as electric energy that powers the toaster. the toaster then creates thermal energy and sends it into the toast. the toast is then warm and ready to be eaten.

I was opening a door one moorning in my room and saw the simple machines of it. The door handle I realized is wheel and axle becuase it turns on an axle and it moves. the hinges are a lever becuase they turn and carry the load away.

I was sitting in my seat one day and found out what to write about, sitting. While sitting down I have potential energy. the thing that keeps me in my seat is gravity. gravity and friction work together, friction trys not to let me move and gravity pulls me downward.
January 29, 2010
I was watching T.V. and I saw hot air balloons. hot air balloons work for one specific reason and that is heat. heat rises and sowhen you mix heat with something as light as a balloon and a basket you will get it to rise with enough heat.
January 22, 2010
I ate food one day and got energy from it. the little bit of energy in the cells of the food are taken to the cells in my body. the mitochocondria in my body's cells absorbed the energy from inside the food.

One day I walked into a room an turned on a light. The science is in how it went on. when I hit the switch it sent electrons through the metal. and they started buzzing around in the other elements in the bulb and creates light.

Just yesterday when I went to yearbook class I saw something epic!!! In the class Ms. Yemothy was doing a demonstaration with dry ice. the bubbles were amazing, they were filled with gas that spilled over when it was popped. It happened from the ice turning to gas.
