I see science when we work with chemicals. I see this because scientist observe things and that is what we do sometimes during science. I also see science when chairs are slid across the floor causing sliding friction. Another way I see science is when the marbles are rolling down the ramp and they cause rolling friction.

I see science in the world when trains go by and my mom has to stop and wait for it. When I see the train go by I see the wheels turning and wonder what makes them turn and be able to pull all of that weight. I know for sure that the main source is the engine, but i can also picture the gears and things working together to power the train to make it get to where it needs to go.

One place that I see science is in the clouds. There is water from the ocean or any other water source. When it gets hot out the sun soaks up the water which is called evaporation. While it is going through the air the water turns into a gas. The it falls from the clouds as rain.

I see science when cars drive by. They have gears and wheels and axels. The gears are used for spinning things so that things will work. They can be used to turn the wheel and axel so that the tires on the car turn to make it move.

I see science at schools everywhere. They have flagpoles that use pulleys. In the flagpole there is a long rope that you are able to pull to make the flag rise to the top of the pole. You can also use the rope to lower the flag from the top of the pole.

I see science when people talk. This is because when people talk, they are pushing sound waves out of their mouths. This happens because of vibrations.

I see science when light bulbs are turned on in any room. These light bulbs light because electricity is going through wires and when the light switch is flipped up then the circuit opens and the electricity flows through the wires and the light bulb is able to light. Then once the switch is flipped down then the circuit is closed and no more electricity gets to the light bulb for it to light.

I see science when I make toast in the toaster. I see a lever because when u push the tab on the toaster down it makes bread go down into the toaster and then the toaster starts.

I see science when I turn on the hot water. I see this because when the hot water in the water heater heats up, then the molecules in the water start to heat up and they make other molecules move around. This makes the molecules warm, which means that the water is getting warmer.
I see science when I open the microwave. The science happens when I push the button on the microwave to open the door when whatever is in there is done. When I push the button it acts as a lever to open the door.
I see science when I take tape off of the tape dispenser. I see this as science because the tape is the wheel and the part that it spins on is the axle so this means that they tape roll will spin on the axle which is why I think that this is a wheel and axle.

I see science when we do things in class on the smart board. I see the projector project the images onto the smart board and I know that electricity has to be going through the projector so that it can do that. When the power button is pressed, the circuit is complete and the electricity flows through it letting it project the images onto the screen. When the power button is pressed again then the circuit is incomplete and the projector no longer projects the images onto the smart board.

I see science when i look into the sky at night. It’s called astronomy. I see all of the stars that are far off in the distance. The sun might look like it’s far away, but really it is very close compared to many other things like galaxies which can be light years away.

I see science when I use my phone because of all of the electricity inside of it that powers it. I see this because when I hit the power button, it acts as the switch that opens and closes the circuit.
