Week 21
Televisions!
With TV’s you can see a picture pretty clearly, right? But what happens when you copy and picture and resize it or zoom in? It becomes blurry, but that is known as “pixely”. A pixel is an individual square that creates an image and a picture or image is made up of thousands of pixels. To help make your image that you are seeing on your TV clearer, the resolution is something you want to look for. The resolution is basically the length and width or the amount of pixels that are being viewed through your eyes.

Week 22
Friction!
I am on the volleyball team and since it is an indoor sport that is played on the hardwood of the gym, we need to play with tennis shoes. Not some court shoes, but some tennis shows, or even better volleyball shoes. These shoes will help when we are on the court, so we don’t slip around when we’re running to get the ball. GO FIGURE, I had to buy new shoes for volleyball and of course, they weren’t broken in, so they had no grip or traction on the court! THERE WAS NO FRICTION! Coach always calls my shoes “wheels” because I am sliding on the court just like some roller skates!

Science-y Words!
OKAY! So you know all of the big words of science? Well, I’m gonna help decipher them and explain to you what they mean! Something that I’m sure we’ve all heard is a ‘dermatologist’. This word is broken down into ‘derm’ which means skin and ‘one who studies’. So a dermatologist means ‘one who studies skin’ or even simpler ‘the skin doctor’! I created a science word using scientific terms and I’m probably going to use it lots during the fall. The word I came up with was ‘adipophyll’ which means ‘fat leaf’.
